Turkish Oriental Tobacco E-liquid
Drake’s Turkish Oriental Tobacco E-liquid is made from Turkish tobacco which is sun-cured, which makes it more aromatic and, like flue-cured tobacco, more acidic than air or smoke-cured tobacco, thus more suitable for cigarette production.

Processing
The production of Turkish Oriental tobacco is a carefully controlled process, with strict standards in place to ensure the highest quality product. The tobacco plants are carefully tended to from the moment they are planted, with farmers using traditional techniques to ensure that the plants grow to their full potential.
Once the tobacco plants have reached maturity, they are carefully harvested by hand, with the leaves being picked at the peak of ripeness. The harvested leaves are then carefully sorted and graded, with only the highest quality leaves being selected for use in the production of Turkish Oriental tobacco.
After the leaves have been harvested, they are cured using a variety of methods, including air curing, fire curing, and flue curing. The curing process helps to remove excess moisture from the leaves and also helps to develop the distinctive flavour and aroma of the tobacco.

Note to Drakes: my 60ml bottle came overfilled with about 56 -57ml in it. Generous, but I had to take 5ml out to give me enough room for 10ml of nicotine base!
Review: I wasn’t sure what to expect from Izmir Turkish as it’s not a tobacco I’ve tried before. Overall this is quite a sweet tobacco flavour. Very smooth and easy to get along with. Medium throat hit. On the aftertaste I pick up some hints of nutty flavours and also a bready/biscuity quality that make it quite dry on the palate (it pairs well with a pint of real ale). Sometimes I pick up some gentle aromatic notes in the background too. Overall it reminded me most of a sweet Virginia flavour, sort of like that, but with some other elusive (“oriental”?) qualities in there that are hard to put your finger on, but keep you puffing away trying to work them out!
For my tastes I wanted a touch more smokiness and aromatics to come through, it might blend well some Latakia to bring that in. But as it is I’ve enjoyed this a lot as a smooth and easy going ADV tobacco.
Tested in: Vapefly Galaxies MTL RTA, 0.8ohm, 18 watts.

Definitely one for cigarette fans. Very well-mannered – it tastes of expensive ready rolled cigarettes. Smooth, not sweet but with a subtle nuttiness, a very subtle citrus fruit edge and an almost floral note, but again very subtle. I liked it and it could easily be an all day vape. For me it was a little too well-mannered on it’s own, but I was more of a pipe smoker and more a fan of the stronger orientals such as Yenidje (please Drake’s can you find some and bottle it?) . This Izmir does blend very well – I enjoyed it mixed in equal parts with Virginia and Perique and I suspect cigarette smokers would love it blended with Virginia and a little Burley. I didn’t find it quite robust enough to hold up to mixing with Latakia. All in all a welcome part of the range, and one particularly good for cigarette tobacco fans.

I really was looking forward to trying this. Turkish has always been a major part of blending, especially for cigarettes. This Izmir is a wonderfully Turkish that has no problem standing on it’s own. It´s main use in blends for pipe and especially cigarette tobacco really shines through here. This smooth and actually, quite neutral taste, so reminisce to a cigarette should appeal to any of you who are, as me, trying to find a taste as close to a cigarette as possible. All you have to do is ignore “Turkish”, “Oriental” and think Cigarette. I have tried blending it with various others of Drakes liquids but , for me, on it´s own, this is as close as it´s get. No, it is not very smoky, maybe not what you would call aromatic but if you are like me, still searching the taste of cigarette, you really should give this a try. It´s fantastic.
Tested in: Ijoy Elf and various versions of Aspire Nautilus and Triton at low wattages.
